Living Well with Sickle Cell

At the Building Bridges Sickle Cell Disease Foundation, we know that true health is about more than just treating symptoms—it’s about living fully, intentionally, and with strength.

That’s why we’re proud to present “Miss Misa Masters”, a transformative wellness series created specifically for the sickle cell community. This series is designed to equip our warriors with powerful tools to build a healthier body, sharper mind, and deeper spiritual connection.

Each episode will focus on one of the six pillars of wellness:

1. Nutrition

2. Cardio

3. Mobility

4. Stretching

5. Strength Training

6. Mindfulness & Spiritual Connection

Looking to Book Pee Wee for your Events?

Interested in booking Pee Wee for your school, community program, or special event? Pee Wee offers interactive public service announcements designed to educate, inspire, and empower children living with sickle cell disease.

🩸Pee Wee Medical Education Ambassador

Pee Wee is an interactive, age-appropriate health education program designed to help children understand their bodies, develop healthy self-care habits, and build empathy for peers living with chronic conditions such as sickle cell disease. Through storytelling, movement, and guided discussion, the program creates a safe and engaging learning environment that reinforces inclusion, kindness, and self-advocacy.

Children, particularly those living with chronic illness are often introduced to health education too late, and when it is provided, the information is frequently clinical, confusing, and disconnected from their lived experience. Pee Wee addresses this gap by delivering health education in a format children understand, retain, and apply.

Each 30-minute interactive educational session includes:

  • An age-appropriate introduction to sickle cell disease
  • Self-care habits, including hydration, rest, and recognizing pain signals
  • Empathy and inclusion, with emphasis on understanding accommodations
  • Self-advocacy, empowering children to ask for help when needed
